IN MEMORY OF RICK GRIFFITH

AN EVEN HIGHER CALLING

God calls us all to be servants of His word. We each possess our own spiritual gifts granted by God, Himself.

Our beloved brother in Christ, Pastor Rick, was given the gift of spreading the love of God. Whether it was to: bring the message to 2 congregations every Sunday morning, spend quality time with our young ones during Children's Moments, bring  God's word to inmates at a correctional facility, spend Chrysalis weekends with teenagers, or just offer some blessed reassurance to a waitress who needed it, Pastor Rick was always eager to share the Gospel of Jesus with all he came in contact.

God planted, in Rick's heart, the seed which would grow into the spiritual force that commanded everyone's attention each Sunday morning.

His passion and enthusiasm for the word of God touched all who listened to his messages.

His favorite saying was: I am happy and healthy. Yes, Rick was happy and healthy in the Lord, each and every day. He was called to be God's messenger in this community. Let us never lose sight of that. His memory will live on in our hearts and souls, forever.

Pastor Rick had a high calling years ago. Now the Lord has summoned our Brother, Pastor Rick, to an even higher calling ..... that of a heavenly servant in the presence of the Most High, our Lord and Savior. He has now been able to touch the face of God. We all can be reassured that Rick has been welcomed into Our Father's Kingdom.

God has embraced him and has spoken these words: Well done, my good and faithful servant

Pastor Rick, we know you are looking down on us and observing, right now, and we here, at Fairmount (and at Bishop), want you to know that we will ALWAYS love you and we will never forget you and what you have meant to all of us. May God Bless You, My Brother.    AMEN.

OUR TIME

Time is never guaranteed.

Tomorrow is never promised.

Take the time we presently enjoy

To bless our creator.

Sing His praises on high.

Count the harvest of bountiful gifts

 from the Lord.

For His favor is forever, spilling forth

 upon our humble prayers.

Out utmost attempt to ease a brother's

afliction is a blessing to God.

With this time we are graciously given,

let us make an impact on someone's life,

 to the glory of God.

Our time is not really our time.

It is God's.                        Tom Nelson
